The weather department has issued an orange alert for the possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia, Katihar in the north-eastern part of Bihar. On the other hand, there is a possibility of light rain in Gopalganj, Siwan, Saharsa, Madhubani, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhepura. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rain in some parts of the capital Patna, Vaishali and Saran. The wind speed here is expected to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

Patna received the least rainfall

Monsoon activity remained normal at most places during the last 24 hours. Heavy rainfall was recorded at one or two places in the North East while light to moderate rainfall was recorded in the remaining areas with thunder and lightning. The rainfall estimates are as follows. 95 mm in Mansi (Katihar), 73.5 mm in Katihar, 58.8 mm in Banmankhi (Purnia) district, 54.8 mm in Indrapuri, 48.2 mm in Dumariya, 45.5 mm in Begusarai, 43 mm in Banka, 41.6 mm in Aurangabad, 0.2 mm in Patna, 0.5 mm in Gaya, 19.2 mm in Purnia and 15.4 mm in Bhagalpur. According to today’s satellite image and numerical model, the depression remains over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Uttar Pradesh. It is likely to move westwards and weaken. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Kishanganj and Bhagalpur and light to moderate rainfall in other parts during the next 24 hours.
