The heat wave that is continuously raging in Bihar has broken all the previous records. People are in a bad condition due to the heat. The Meteorological Department has warned people to remain alert and to remain cautious as there is no relief from the heat yet. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the possibility of a severe heat wave at one or two places in the southwest and south-central parts of the state. Whereas, a yellow alert has been issued for heat wave at one or two places in the northwest and south-east parts of the state. Today, a home guard jawan in Nalanda and a woman in Begusarai died due to heat stroke. Let us tell you that on Wednesday, 337 people including teachers and children fell ill in different schools due to severe heat. Whereas, 16 people died.
Regarding the weather and heatwave, the electricity department has also said that there is a disruption in the power supply due to the increasing overload. Due to the lack of electricity, the electricity department has appealed to the people not to run all their appliances at once. The electricity department has said that the water motor, iron, washing machine and other loads should be run only from 5 am to 11 am. Keep the refrigerator closed from 6 pm to 11 pm. Do not run the AC continuously from 6 pm to 11 pm. For this, they have appealed to run one at an interval of half an hour. Along with this, the electricity department believes that due to the scorching heat, the power supply is not being done smoothly due to system overload. People should use the appeal of the electricity department carefully.
Temperatures can reach up to 48 degrees in these areas
The weather department has predicted that the maximum temperature in Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Bhabua, Aurangabad and Arwal in the south west will remain between 46 degrees to 48 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Whereas the maximum temperature in Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Jehanabad in the south central region will remain between 44 to 46 degrees. The weather remained dry during the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature in most areas of South Bihar has been more than 42 degrees Celsius. According to the data received from the weather observatory, during the last 24 hours, Patna was 42.8 degrees Celsius, Gaya was 46.8 degrees Celsius, Bhagalpur was 39 degrees Celsius and Purnia was 37 degrees Celsius.
