BJP UP Assessment Report: Lok Sabha Elections BJP did not perform as expected in 2019. The party’s performance in big states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan has been disappointing. BJP suffered the biggest setback in UP, where the party which had 62 seats in 2019 alone was reduced to just 33 seats. BJP has done a review after the defeat in UP. A report has been prepared on the basis of this. It has been told in this report that there are a total of 12 reasons, including paper leak, due to which the fort of UP has collapsed.
The review report prepared by BJP for UP is of 15 pages in total. It mentions 12 reasons for the defeat. To review the defeat, 40 teams from the party have collected information by visiting 78 Lok Sabha seats. About 500 workers have been talked to in one Lok Sabha. About 40,000 workers have been talked to for preparing the report. Now this report will be presented in the meeting of BJP’s national office bearers.
Decline in vote share, constitutional amendment spoilt BJP’s chances
According to the report, there has been a decline in BJP’s votes in all regions. There has been a decline of 8 percent in vote share. It has been told that seats decreased in Braj region, Western UP, Kanpur-Bundelkhand, Awadh, Kashi, Gorakhpur region as compared to 2019. Samajwadi Party has got votes from backward, Dalit and minority society. Non-Yadav OBC and non-Jatav SC votes have been cast in favor of SP. The report said that the statements of constitutional amendment distanced the backward castes from BJP.
