What does the politics of Karnataka say?

To understand the impact of this decision on the Karnataka assembly elections, let us first understand the politics of Karnataka a little. Karnataka has 224 assembly seats and 28 Lok Sabha seats. If we talk about now, where BJP has 25 MPs in the Lok Sabha, there are 117 MLAs in the Vidhansabha. Caste equation is going to play an important role in the upcoming elections.

The Lingayat community forms 17 percent of the total population of the state. This time the Lingayat community is in the center in the elections. This community can influence the results of 100 seats which can be a game changer for any party.

Traditionally pro-Congress, the Lingayat community has been angry with the Congress party since the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi sacked Lingayat Chief Minister Virendra Patil in 1990, and the Congress recorded its worst-ever performance in the elections.

Apart from this, Hindu wings have a significant impact on the politics of Karnataka.
