BJP has announced candidates for four Lok Sabha seats of Moradabad division. Barring Nagina reserved seat, BJP has placed its bets on backward classes on three seats. The party has fielded only old faces in Rampur, Sambhal and Amroha Lok Sabha seats. Candidates are yet to be announced for Moradabad and Bijnor seats.

There are six Lok Sabha constituencies in Moradabad division. It has Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Bijnor and Nagina seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had lost all the six seats of the division. Whereas in the 2014 elections, the party had won all the seats of the division.

This time, after churning the caste equation to repeat the 2014 performance, BJP has announced the Lok Sabha candidates on Saturday evening. This includes four Lok Sabha seats of Moradabad division. The party has nominated sitting MP Ghanshyam Lodhi from Rampur Lok Sabha seat, former MLC Parmeshwar Lal Saini from Sambhal and former MP Kanwar Singh Tanwar from Amroha.

All of them belong to backward caste. Whereas from the reserved seat Nagina, BJP has placed its bet on MLA Om Kumar. Candidates from Moradabad and Bijnor Lok Sabha seats have not been announced yet. Here too, efforts are being made to solve the caste equation.
