BJP Rajya Sabha Candidates: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of 28 candidates for 56 Rajya Sabha seats. Of these, there are only four names who have been nominated by the party for Rajya Sabha again. Seven Union ministers and many senior leaders have not been made candidates by the party. In such a situation, indications have started emerging that now these big leaders can contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Only these leaders were made candidates again
BJP national president JP Nadda, Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnav and L Murugan and party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi have been re-nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Mansukh Mandaviya, Rajiv Chandrashekhar, Purushottam Rupala, Narayan Rane and V Muraleedharan have not been nominated twice by BJP for Rajya Sabha.
These leaders can contest Lok Sabha elections
From BJP’s side, former Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar, Anil Baluni and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi were also not re-nominated to Rajya Sabha. BJP has declared the names of the candidates so far keeping in mind the social equations. The party has given preference to its grassroots and organization workers, which include Dharamshila Gupta from Bihar, Medha Kulkarni from Maharashtra and Maya Narolia from Madhya Pradesh. JP Nadda made candidate from Gujarat
Among the 28 names announced by BJP, except JP Nadda, there is no leader who has served two or more terms. He has been made the party’s candidate from Gujarat. Presently he is a Rajya Sabha member from Himachal Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who joined BJP from Congress, has been made the Rajya Sabha candidate from Maharashtra. Govindbhai Dholakia, Mayankbhai Nayak, Jashwantsingh Salamsingh Parmar have also been made Rajya Sabha candidates from Gujarat. The party has also nominated Medha Kulkarni and Ajit Gopchade from Maharashtra to Rajya Sabha.
