The body of a six-year-old girl who was missing from her home on Sunday was found in a pond in Budhpur village of Alipur. The girl had gone to a temple near the pond from her home. The police have sent the body for postmortem. Considering the possibility of rape of the girl, the police have requested the administration to get the postmortem of the body done under the supervision of a medical board. The cause of death will be revealed only after the postmortem report arrives.
The six-year-old girl lived with her family on rent in Budhpur village. Her father works in a factory. Her mother said that her husband returned home from the factory at 7 pm on Sunday. She did not see her daughter at home. It was revealed from the neighbours that the girl had gone to a nearby temple with a three-year-old girl living in the neighbourhood. After some time, the three-year-old girl returned home, but the six-year-old girl did not return. After this, the family members started searching, but could not find any trace of the girl.
The family complained about the girl’s disappearance in Alipur police station. On the complaint, the police registered a case of kidnapping. The police started searching for the girl along with the girl’s family. On Monday morning around 10 o’clock, people saw the girl’s body floating in a pond near the temple. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody. After investigating, the police said that there were no injury marks on the body and the pants were also intact.
Considering the possibility of sexual assault, a medical board is being constituted for postmortem. The police officer said that videography will also be done during the postmortem. The cause of the girl’s death will be revealed only after the postmortem report comes. The police team is trying to find out through CCTV cameras how the girl reached the pond.
