Ingredients for Vegetable Uttapam

Washed Urad Dal – 1/2 cup
Rice – 1 cup
Ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 12-13
Finely chopped carrots – 1 cup
Finely chopped onion – 1 cup
Finely chopped tomato – 1 cup
Finely chopped capsicum – 1 cup
Peas – 1 cup
Oil – 4 tbsp
Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp
salt – as per taste

How to make Vegetable Uttapam

To make Vegetable Uttapam, a day before i.e. in the evening, we will keep the rice-dal soaked in water. Then before going to sleep at night, we will filter its water. Now with the help of a grinder, we will make a paste out of it. When the yeast rises in this mixture, add ginger paste, curry leaves, green vegetables, salt and asafoetida to it and prepare its solution.

After this, take a nonstick pan. Will keep it on medium flame. When the griddle gets hot, put some oil in it. Keep in mind that this oil has to be spread all over the griddle. After this, with the help of a small ladle, put the already prepared mixture on the griddle and spread it. Now put a little oil on its edges, flip it and let it cook for some time. When there is a light brown color on its edges, turn it on the other side. Remove it after roasting properly on both the sides. You can serve it with green chutney or sauce to the guests or children who come home.
