Brinjal can be cultivated in Kharif and Rabi as well as in every season i.e. throughout the year. Brinjal can also be cultivated as a mixed crop. To get more production of brinjal, it is very important to plant the seeds properly. The distance between two plants also needs special attention.

Keep distance from plant to plant in this way
The distance between two plants and two rows should be 60 centimeters. Before planting the seeds, the field should be leveled by plowing it properly 4 to 5 times. After this, prepare beds in the field as per requirement. In brinjal cultivation, 300 to 400 grams of seeds are required per acre. After sowing the seeds to a depth of 1 centimeter, they should be covered with soil. The brinjal crop is ready in two months.

Irrigation in three-four days
To get higher yield in brinjal cultivation, it is very important to provide water at the right time. In summer season, watering should be done every 3-4 days and in winter season irrigation has to be done every 12 to 15 days. To save the crop during foggy days, maintain moisture in the soil and water it continuously. One thing has to be kept in mind here that the brinjal crop should not remain waterlogged, because if this happens then it cannot tolerate water.

How much will it cost to cultivate brinjal?
Cultivation of one hectare of brinjal will cost around Rs 2 lakh till the first harvesting. Another Rs 2 lakh may be spent on maintenance throughout the year. That means a farmer will have to spend about Rs 4 lakh in brinjal cultivation in the whole year. Up to 100 tonnes of brinjal can be produced from one hectare in a year.

There will be so much profit from brinjal cultivation
If you sell brinjal in the market at an average price of Rs 10 per kg, you can earn at least Rs 10 lakh from the brinjal crop. That means if you remove the cost of Rs 4 lakh, you will earn Rs 6 lakh in a year from brinjal crop.
