On Thursday night in Khurani village of Ghosi police station area of Mau district, the younger brother killed his elder brother by hitting him on the head with a hammer while he was sleeping. The deceased was posted as a constable in Machhlishahr of Jaunpur. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem. The accused brother has absconded after the incident.

According to the information, Sandeep Singh Patel (26) son of late Lal Bahadur, resident of Khurani village of Ghosi Kotwali, was posted as a constable in Machhlishahr, Jaunpur. On Thursday morning, he came home to meet his mother and younger brother Dilip. Late in the evening, he had an argument with his younger brother Dilip Singh, who is a graduate, over some issue. The constable instructed Dilip to mend his ways. After this, Sandeep ate dinner and went to sleep.
Meanwhile, an angry Dilip hit Sandeep on the head with a hammer. He got seriously injured. After the incident, the family took him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Regarding this incident, SP Ilamaran said that the matter is under consideration. The deceased had some dispute with his younger brother regarding studies. Angered by this, his younger brother attacked him with a hammer. The police is investigating.
