On Friday, two days after the fourth phase of nomination process, BSP has also revealed its cards. Former BJP MLA Mahendra Singh Yadav has been made the party candidate from Sitapur parliamentary constituency. The election excitement is expected to increase with Mahendra getting the ticket.
Mahendra Singh Yadav contested and won the elections from Biswan Assembly in 2017 on BJP ticket. He was a strong contender for the ticket in the 2022 assembly elections, but just before the elections, an objectionable video went viral on social media. After this, BJP canceled his ticket and gave it to Nirmal Verma. Nirmal Verma offered lotus on the twentieth seat, while Mahendra Singh Yadav was harboring grudge against sitting MP Rajesh Verma for denying his ticket. But he remained associated with BJP even after being denied the ticket.

He had also sought votes for Nirmal Verma in the assembly elections. This time he had decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections. He also kept getting his hoardings installed in Sitapur parliamentary constituency, but MP Rajesh Verma was successful in getting the ticket for the third consecutive time. Due to this, the wishes of Mahendra Singh Yadav were ruined. But he had made up his mind to contest the elections. In such a situation, there was no step back. On Monday he reached BSP state office. After this, a meeting was held with BSP workers of the district.
His ticket was confirmed in the BSP list released on Friday evening. Now a triangular fight is being expected on this seat. Rajesh Verma from BJP, Rakesh Rathore from the alliance and Mahendra Singh Yadav from BSP will be seen making efforts.
