Cancer is a fatal disease, the number of its patients is continuously increasing. To prevent this, awareness campaigns are being run continuously in the government and health departments as well as in the private sector. But instead of stopping, the number of patients is continuously increasing. Recently, the Health Department’s non-communicable diseases campaign brought some awareness among the people but the number of cancer patients has increased. If we look at the district level screening report, in three years, 36 cases of oral cancer have been recorded in men and 18 cases of breast cancer in women. Which includes men and women in the age group of 30 to 50. According to data from JN Medical College, 50 percent risk of cancer can already be reduced by awareness. Keeping this in mind, every year February 4 is celebrated as World Cancer Day by the World Health Organization and the Union for International Cancer Control.

Four thousand patients come to JN Medical College every year.

More than four thousand cancer patients come to JN Medical College every year. They are also in advanced stage. Under the treatment of cancer, surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy facilities are available in the medical college. There is a cancer ward with 50 beds. Patients from Hathras, Mathura, Rampur, Badaun, Saharanpur, Bulandshahr and Bihar come here. About 100 children also come here every year suffering from cancer.

According to doctors, uterus, breast and ovary cancer are most commonly seen in women. It can be stopped if identified timely. Men are most vulnerable to lung, throat and mouth cancer. Cancers of anus and bladder also occur.
