The chemical used to prevent fire in 99% of cars in the country is a risk of cancer for car riders. NGT has sent notices to four departments including the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and has sought their response. Earlier, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had refused to investigate the effects of these chemicals saying that it does not have the necessary facilities.
