During the VIP movement in Delhi Cantt area, a speeding car hit a CRPF jawan hard. The soldier was seriously injured in the accident. Other comrades admitted the injured soldier to RR Hospital, where his condition remains critical. The injured soldier has been identified as Anil Kumar. After committing the incident, the accused driver fled leaving the car on the spot. Police have arrested the accused Devdutt from Gurugram through the car number.
Injured Anil Kumar is working as a constable in CRPF. He is posted in Jafrabad area. The police officer said that on May 4, around 10.45 pm, the police received information about a road accident in Dhaula Kuan area. The police reached the spot and found a car at the spot. The glass of the car was broken. A CRPF jawan Ashok Kumar was found on the spot.
He told that he was posted in VIP movement in Dhaula Kuan. After the movement ended at night, he was going towards the staff bus with his fellow Havildar Anil Kumar. While crossing the road, a car came towards him at high speed. He signaled the car driver to stop. But by then the car hit Anil hard. Due to the collision, Anil jumped and fell on the bonnet of the car and then fell down and became unconscious. The glass of the car was broken due to falling on the bonnet.
After going some distance, the driver stopped the car and then after taking the car some distance, parked it on the roadside and ran away from there. Other soldiers on duty took injured Anil to RR Hospital. Police reached the hospital after seizing the car at the spot. The injured constable was not in a condition to give a statement. Based on Ashok’s statement, the police have registered a case against the unknown driver for causing an accident due to careless driving.
Police identified the driver through the car number. After that the police team raided Gurugram and arrested the driver Devdutt. The accused driver told during interrogation that he was very scared after the incident, hence he fled from the spot.
