The Delhi High Court on Wednesday fixed July 31 as the date for hearing the petition of BRS leader K Kavitha. In this, the trial court’s order of his arrest by the CBI and sending him to CBI custody in the Delhi Excise Policy case has been challenged. In fact, the bench of Justice Swarn Kant Sharma relieved the case from its board due to the change in the Delhi High Court roster. The bench of Justice Swarn Kant Sharma fixed the case for July 31 before the appropriate bench.

In her plea challenging her arrest in the CBI case, K Kavitha said that the entire proceedings leading to her arrest and imprisonment in the CBI case are anathema to the law and violate the fundamental principles by which the powers vested in the investigating agency as well as the court are inter se interacting with those of a person who is already in custody in another (ED) case, resulting in violation of the fundamental rights of the petitioner under Articles 21 and 22 (1) and (2) of the Constitution.

The plea moved by K Kavitha said that she is a mother of two children, one of whom is a minor who is currently in shock and is being medically supervised. Therefore, the satisfaction of guilt expressed in the arrest order is only a sham and a sham, Kavitha alleged in her fresh bail plea. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its chargesheet filed against Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader K Kavitha said that she was involved in manipulation and tampering of the Delhi Excise Policy case. During investigation, the role of accused K Kavitha has come to light not only in the collection of advance money but also in the transfer of illegal money to Goa through hawala channel.
