On the complaint of the deceased’s brother, the police have registered a case against five people including husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law, in the case of death of a married woman, resident of village Nagla Budhu Hemraj of Kotwali Hathras Gate area, after her health deteriorated on February 21.
The deceased’s brother Karmaveer son of Jugendra Singh village Sarai Mahamai Salavat Nagar Kotwali Sikandra Rao has filed the case saying that his sister Karmavati was married on 13 May 2021 to Veeresh son Ramveer Singh, resident of village Nagla Budhu Hemraj of Kotwali Hathras Gate area. As per the demand of Veeresh and his father, mother, brother and sister, three lakh rupees in cash and other items were given in the marriage, but he was not satisfied with this. After the wedding was over, Veeresh started demanding a Bullet bike and father Ramveer also started supporting him.
These people started saying that if the bullet is not given then the marriage will not take place. After persuasion by the relatives present at the spot, they agreed with great difficulty and the marriage rituals were completed. When we said that we cannot afford a Bullet bike, our in-laws said that we will have to give a motorcycle, otherwise the wife will not be happy. Due to not giving Bullet bike, her in-laws started harassing her sister.
They started beating her and starving her, due to which she became a victim of tuberculosis. Despite this, her in-laws did not take her treatment seriously. The in-laws killed his sister by deliberately neglecting and harassing her, admitted her to Bagla District Hospital and fled away. Husband Veeresh, Rajjo Devi mother-in-law, Ramveer father-in-law, Jitendra brother-in-law and Sarita sister-in-law have been nominated.
