Female leopard found dead in the ravines of Chambal

A female leopard of about two years was found dead in the ravine near village Jagtupura in Chambal Sanctuary area of Agra on Saturday. There was a sharp object injury on the right leg and head. The Forest Department has registered a case against two people on suspicion of killing and hunting the leopard with any weapon. At the same time, a search operation was conducted with drone cameras to search for other members of the female leopard’s family.
On receiving information from the villagers about the death of a leopard in the ravines of Chambal, Forest Department Warden KC Shekhar and Ranger Bah Uday Pratap Singh reached the spot along with Forest Department employees. The team has sent the body of the female leopard to Mathura for post-mortem. Ranger said that the post mortem report has not come. But, in connection with the death of leopard, a case has been registered under the Wildlife Act against Saurabh son Ravindra Singh and Saurabh son Bhutla resident of Jagtupura police station Mansukhpura.
They have been accused of tampering with the dead leopard’s body. the police has started to investigate. On Sunday, the team remained busy in the ravines of Chambal throughout the day, but no other leopards were found. Forest Inspector Dilip Dubey said that efforts are on to find the family of the dead female leopard. So that he does not become violent and attack people.
