A case will be filed against Arundhati Roy and Dr. Sheikh Shaukat Hussain, former professor of international law at the Central University of Kashmir, for making inflammatory speeches. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena gave approval for prosecution under Section 45 (1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. An FIR was registered against them on October 28, 2010 on the complaint of Sushil Pandit. Earlier, the LG had given approval under Section 196 of CrPC to prosecute the above accused for offenses punishable under Section 153A/153B and 505 of the IPC in October 2023.
Let us tell you that both of them are accused of giving inflammatory speeches during a program held at LTG Auditorium on 21 October 2010. During this, they talked about separating Kashmir from India. Syed Ali Shah Gilani, SAR Gilani (anchor of the conference and main accused in the Parliament attack case), Arundhati Roy, Dr. Sheikh Shaukat Hussain and Maoist supporter Rao were present in this conference.
It was alleged that Geelani and Arundhati Roy vehemently propagated that Kashmir was never a part of India and was forcibly occupied by the armed forces of India. Every effort should be made for the independence of the State of Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian Union and the recording of the same was also provided by the complainant.
