Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote in a post on X, “Modi ji, caste counting has started in Telangana from today. We will use the data obtained from this to make policies for the development of every section of the state. Soon it will be done. It will happen in Maharashtra also, everyone knows that BJP does not want to conduct a comprehensive caste census in the country. He further said that I want to tell Modi ji clearly, you cannot stop the caste census across the country. We will pass the caste census in this very Parliament and break the 50% limit on reservation.
Congress held a meeting in Telangana on 5 November
Let us tell you that the Telangana government has started the caste census on Saturday. It is being told that in the next few weeks, 80,000 enumerators will survey more than 1.17 crore houses in 33 districts. Earlier, Congress had held a meeting on caste survey in Telangana on 5 November. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was also present in this meeting. Expressing his commitment to ensure complete caste census, he had said that this step is part of the party’s national vision. It was also said that the aim of Congress is to bring an important change towards an egalitarian system in the Indian society.
During the meeting, Rahul Gandhi had targeted PM Modi and said, “He wonders why the Prime Minister has not said publicly that he wants to challenge the idea of discrimination in India.” He asked, “Why is the Prime Minister afraid to ask how many Dalits, OBCs, tribals are there in corporates, judiciary, media?”
