Expansion
The work of expansion of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport runway at Babatpur is going on at a fast pace. Out of 117 hectares of land registration, registration of about 82 hectares of land has been completed. The registration of the remaining land will be done by July 15. On Wednesday, the Central Government has approved Rs 2870 crore for the airport. This is expected to speed up the work further.
According to Pindra SDM Pratibha Mishra, registration of about 70 percent of the land has been completed. Talks are going on with the farmers for the remaining land, the farmers are ready. By July 15, the acquisition of the remaining land will be completed and the land will be handed over to the state government.
It was told that many farmers have agreed to give their land, so first the land of those farmers will be taken who have agreed. Then if needed, land will be taken under the Land Acquisition Act. All the farmers are being given proper compensation.
It was told that LNT will do the work of expansion of this conch shaped airport. An agreement has been reached on this as well. Let us tell you that along with the expansion of the runway, there will be new terminal building, cargo terminal, aircraft stand, aircraft hangar, CAT 3 system and other works.
