Security researchers have issued a warning for Android users. If you also have an Android phone, then read this article carefully and also share it with your friends and family. Actually, researchers have got a new version of ‘Chameleon Trojan’ which bypasses the security of Android phone and steals your password and other details. For this, this malware uses the accessibility settings and disables the Face ID and fingerprint lock of the phone.
According to Threat Fabric report, ‘Chameleon Trojan’ attaches itself to Android apps like Google Chrome etc. and works in the background. As Bleeping Computer reports, the threat actors working on the malware have claimed that the Camelion Trojan bundle is undetectable at runtime, allowing it to bypass Google Protect alerts and security software running on the device. In the older versions, this malware worked through accessibility settings, but in the new Android versions, it works differently due to Google security restrictions.
Now this malware shows an HTML page from where users are told how to enable the service of the app. In this way it bypasses Android’s security and steals on-screen passwords and data. This malware also works in the background and collects all the sensitive data with the help of your password.

Security researchers said that the way to deliver this malware is through Apk files. That means this malware is being distributed through third party websites and apps. The only way to avoid this malware is that you do not download apps from third party websites and do not give any access to the accessibility settings of such apps. Keep your smartphone up to date and run Google Play Protect from time to time.
