The country’s largest airline company Indigo has announced to stop charging fuel charges from people after the reduction in aviation fuel prices. This will provide relief to air travelers and tickets will become cheaper. Those traveling long distances will get the most benefit from it. How much fuel charge was being charged?
Fuel charge was started being charged by the airline in October last year after the increase in the prices of ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel). This fuel charge was levied depending on the distance of your journey, for short distance journeys you had to pay Rs 300 and for long distance journeys you had to pay up to Rs 1,000. Now after the reduction in fuel prices, the airline has removed the fuel charge from the ticket.
How much cheaper will the ticket become?
Now if we talk about the ticket prices, then the ticket which used to cost you around Rs 3 thousand (estimate) to go from Delhi to Jaipur has now reduced to Rs 2600. Or it will be Rs 2700. Similarly, if you take a flight from Delhi to Mumbai, you can get a ticket of Rs 6 thousand for Rs 5500.
Now if we talk about the distance of the flight, if the distance is up to 500 kilometers then every passenger will have to pay Rs 300, Rs 400 for the ticket for distance of 501-1,000 km, Rs 550 for ticket for distance of 1,001-1,500 km, Rs 550 for ticket for distance of 1,501-2,500 km. Rs 650 and up to Rs 800 will be saved on journey distance of 2,501-3,500 kilometres. People taking tickets for distances of 3,501 kilometers and above will save up to Rs 1,000.
Now people can get relief from this in other airlines where fuel surcharge is being charged like Indigo. This will benefit the most those passengers who frequently travel by flight.
