For the last one and a half years, the company has been selling food and snacks at a price fixed by IRCTC in Moradabad. Vegetarian plate for Rs 70 and Chole Bhature and other food items are being made available to passengers for Rs 50. Apart from this, public food (vegetable-puri) also buy a lot of passengers daily for 30 rupees.

Now, due to the closure of the refreshment room, hundreds of passengers will not get cheaper food daily. They have to buy food items from the stall, where the public food will not be available at a cheaper price. To avoid this problem, IRCTC has started searching for another company to operate the refreshment room.

The tender has been taken out for this but no company has applied yet. It will take about three months to complete the tender process. It has been decided that after 15 February, passengers will have to face trouble for eating cheap.

IRCTC representative Amit Kumar said that Doon Catters have surrendered the license. The tender has been taken out for the operation of the refreshment room. After the application, another company will be given the responsibility of operating.
