The incident happened late Monday night, when Madhuri, daughter of YSR Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Bida Mastan Rao, was driving her BMW. She had a female friend with her. According to the information, Madhuri allegedly ran her car over 24-year-old painter Surya who was sleeping on the footpath in Besant Nagar, Chennai. It is being said that he was in an inebriated state.
The argument started after getting out of the car
Police officials say that Madhuri fled from the spot immediately after the incident. Her friend got out of the car after the accident and started arguing with the people gathered there and after some time she also left the spot. The crowd gathered at the accident site took Surya to the hospital, but by then he had died.
They got married eight months ago
According to the information, the deceased Surya was married for only eight months. Surya’s relatives demand that strict action be taken in this matter. They gathered at Shastri Nagar Police Station J-5 regarding this. When the police checked the CCTV footage, it was found that the car belonged to BMR Group and was registered in Puducherry.
After arrest, bail was granted from the police station itself
