Two youths travelling on a bike were badly injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Salempur School under Derni police station area in Chhapra. One of the youths died on the spot. While the other is said to be seriously injured. The deceased youth has been identified as Mohd Naushad Ali, 28-year-old son of Rais Mian, resident of Raghuni Tola of Vishwambharpur village of Derni police station area. While the badly injured youth has been identified as Mohd Mukhtar, son of Mohd Ramzan Mian of the same village, who is undergoing treatment at Parsa Health Center.
Regarding the incident, it is being told that the deceased had left his house for his maternal grandmother’s house on a bike with a village friend. According to eyewitnesses, the bike was going towards the west. While a Bolero vehicle was coming from the opposite direction at a high speed. The Bolero driver lost control of the vehicle and managed to escape after hitting the bike. At the same time, seeing the road accident, local villagers gathered and informed the police team by calling 112. However, the police vehicle reached with a delay of one hour and took them to the community health center at Parsa. Where the doctor declared one of them dead, while the other youth was given first aid and referred to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for better treatment.
On receiving the news of the incident, the wife and two sons of the deceased Naushad Ali have become helpless. While the mother of the deceased, Nooraisa Khatoon, brother, father and sister are crying inconsolably. When asked about the matter, Derni police station in-charge Priyanka Kumari said that the investigation of the incident is going on. However, the villagers have told that the incident happened due to collision with an unknown four-wheeler.
