Every day about 700 people come to this Annapurna Dal Bhaat Center to eat a hearty meal. This Dal Bhaat Center is being run by the Jain community. Its director is Mohan Chopra. Shivshankar Bhatt, employee of Annapurna Dal Bhat Center said that Dal Bhat Center has been operating in the capital Raipur for the last 20 years. Here pulses and rice are available for just Rs 10. You can have a full meal with vegetables, pickles and papad for Rs 20. Food is prepared continuously from 10 am to 8 pm and the flow of people continues. From big to small, from students to working professionals, people from all walks of life come here to eat food. Thousands of rickshaws ply in the capital and many rickshaw pullers come here to satisfy their hunger. Mekahara Hospital is right in front of this Dal Bhat Centre. Where people from all over the state come for treatment. The relatives of the patients eat a full meal here for just Rs 20. There is a Central Jail nearby, the employees there also eat the same food.
