Surajpur COVID 19 News: After the confirmation of two active cases of Corona in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh after a long time, the district administration including the health department is on alert mode and has started necessary preparations to deal with Covid. It is a matter of relief that both are members of the same family and they have no external travel history. Samples of a total of 12 people, including his family members and acquaintances, who came in contact with him, were also taken, the report of which has come negative.

Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr RS Singh said that a man and woman of a family of Pratappur area, aged between 50 and 55 years, had symptoms of cold and cough along with fever. When they did not get better even after taking the medicine on their own, they reached the health center, where after testing with the antigen kit, both of them were found to be corona positive. The doctors have kept him on home isolation, giving him necessary advice and medicines as per his health and have asked him to follow the Corona guidelines. He told that samples of about 12 people who came in contact with him were also taken, whose report is a relief as it is negative.

Wards have already been made for isolation
CMHO RS Singh said that after the confirmation of two cases in the district, the health department is on alert mode and complete preparations have been made to deal with Covid. There are 100 beds each in the district hospital and mother-child hospital to deal with Covid. Out of which 20-20 have been reserved. He also informed that wards for home isolation have already been made in all the community health centers of the district, which will be used if needed. Adequate quantities of gloves, PPE kits, sanitizers and antigen kits for Covid testing are available in hospitals. The two positive cases found a day ago have only the old symptoms like cold, cough and fever, the new variant has not been identified. He said that there is no need to panic. Everyone should use masks regularly and maintain social distancing.

One oxygen plant stalled, two working
Giving information, CMHO Dr. RS Singh said that there is availability of about 696 oxygen beds in the hospital. In which three plants have been installed in the district hospital premises to supply oxygen. Out of which two plants are in working condition, while one plant has come to a standstill due to not being able to maintain pressure. Instructions have been given to the concerned for its improvement.

Jerome will send sample if RT PCR test comes positive
After the corona report of two people from the same family of Pratappur area of ​​the district came positive on Thursday, their sample has been sent to Virology Lab Ambikapur for RT-PCR test. If the report comes positive, then the sample will be sent to Raipur to test the variant. At present, both the patients who tested positive will have to remain on home isolation for a week, out of which they have spent three days.

Awareness and caution are necessary to prevent infection
CMHO Dr. RS Singh has appealed to the general public and said that there is no need for anyone to panic. The intensity of infection among the newly infected was quite low, hence the reports of the people who came in contact are negative. He said that samples of about 80-100 people are being taken every day in the district, in which the positive rate is not even one percent. He said that no new symptoms were being seen in the people coming for testing. To prevent infection, caution along with awareness is necessary.
