The first Children’s Champion Awards have been launched by the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR). Delhi Education Minister Atishi on Saturday awarded the first Children’s Champion Award in different categories to 12 persons working in the field of child rights and development. Through this unique award, DCPCR recognizes those individuals and institutions who have made significant contribution in the field of health, education, protection of children.

Addressing the event, Atishi said that this award is a recognition of her efforts and contribution towards the betterment of the children of the country. The award will further motivate them to work with renewed energy and enthusiasm. He said that it is very inspiring that a child who himself comes from a difficult situation and is running a library for millions of children without thinking about himself, nothing can be more inspiring than this.

Education Minister asked the winners to keep working for the society and children in the same way. So that India can be made number-one country by educating its society and children. The DCPCR Children’s Champion Awards were presented in 12 categories including children, politics, jurists, journalism, education, health and nutrition, child protection, arts, education, sports, business and public service.
