Due to two days of continuous rain and cold winds, shivering has increased in Delhi. The city is in the grip of cold and the temperature continues to drop. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding haze and fog on Monday. The minimum temperature is expected to be 9 degrees Celsius.

Dense fog is present in many areas of Delhi. The night shelters built in the city have provided relief to the homeless people. They have been provided facilities like blankets, food and beds in these government shelters. Those taking shelter here to escape the harsh cold said that before going to the temporary shelters, they were asked to show Aadhaar cards.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that the minimum temperature will drop from Monday. Also, there will be dense fog in many areas. In such a situation, yellow alert has been issued. The maximum temperature is expected to be 18 degrees and the minimum temperature is expected to be 9 degrees. More or less the same situation will prevail on Tuesday and Wednesday also. The department said that at some places there may be dense to dense fog in the morning. Smog is expected in the evening and night.

There was fog and smog since Sunday morning. Due to this the drivers had to face problems. Although there was mild sunshine during the day, there was no respite from the cold. As soon as afternoon the sky became cloudy. Also strong cold winds blew. Cold winds again dropped the temperature in the evening. People resorted to bonfires to escape the cold at night. The minimum temperature recorded in Palam was the lowest as per other centres. The minimum temperature here was 11.1 degrees Celsius. Whereas, 11.8 degree Celsius was recorded in Aya Nagar, 12.2 in Narela, 12.5 in Najafgarh and 13.1 degree Celsius in Pusa.
