What is HMPV virus?
Human metapneumovirus is an RNA virus. It belongs to the metapneumovirus class of the Pneumoviridae family. It was discovered for the first time by a Dutch researcher in 2001. Studies have shown that this virus has existed for at least 60 years. This is a common respiratory problem, which has spread all over the world. This is mainly due to droplets released from coughing and sneezing. According to the website of China’s CDC, the infection period of this virus is 3 to 5 days. The immune response to HMPV is too weak to prevent repeated infections.
