China stabbing attack: A 21-year-old student killed 8 people in Wuxi city of China. At least eight people died and 17 others were injured in multiple knife attacks. Police in Yixing city confirmed the death toll, telling AFP that the attack took place in the evening at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Jiangsu province. This incident comes a few days after 35 people were killed and 43 others were injured after a 62-year-old driver rammed his car into a crowd in the southern city of Zhuhai.
A man carrying a knife attacked people at Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in a district of Wuxi near Shanghai at around 6.30 pm. Police in Yixing said in a statement that the suspect, identified as a 21-year-old man who graduated from college this year, was arrested at the school.
A man drove a car into a crowd in Zhuhai
Recently, a man drove a car into a crowd at a sports center in China’s southern city of Zhuhai, killing at least 35 people. This incident was one of the deadliest accidents in China in a decade. Officials gave information on the matter and said that at least 43 people were injured in the deadly attack.
Police said that after committing the incident, the driver stabbed himself, after which he went into a coma and is admitted to the hospital. Violent incidents targeting civilians under police surveillance are rare in China, but the past few years have seen an increase in attacks.
