Chinese Army: A top Chinese defence official has said that the Chinese military is now focusing on winning wars against “powerful enemies and adversaries”, moving away from its decades-old doctrine of winning local wars. The Chinese military’s remarks come at a time when China is facing challenges on many fronts, including the US.
“In the new journey, we should focus on strengthening capabilities to defeat powerful enemies and adversaries,” Miao Hua, a member of the Central Military Commission, said. Chinese President Xi Jinping has also directed the military to improve its strategic capabilities to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and development interests.

On the other hand, China has deployed its army and air force on a large scale on the Myanmar border. China is doing this at a time when civil war is going on in Myanmar. The situation in Myanmar has worsened due to the continuous war between the ruling army and the rebels. Now China is afraid that Myanmar may become another Bangladesh.
