According to the information, the case of the death of Chinese citizen Li Jiaqi in Muzaffarpur has reached the National Human Rights Commission and Bihar Human Rights Commission. Advocate Subodh Kumar Jha has filed a petition in this case, in which this incident has been described as a violation of the rules of protection of foreign citizens and International Human Rights Commission. Along with this, there is also an allegation of negligence in the case. It is also alleged in the petition that a counselor was not made available to the Chinese citizen. In the petition, a demand has been made to get the case investigated by a retired advocate of the High Court.
In the entire case, human rights advocate Dr. SK Jha said that negligence has been committed in the case of the death of the Chinese citizen. The agency should have been informed about this matter immediately after the police arrest. Along with this, the law made by the United Nations Human Rights Organization for foreign citizens around the world has been violated. In this case, the Chinese citizen should have immediately got a counselor who would understand his language. So that his mental state could be understood, because in the incident that happened, such a case came to light as if the Chinese citizen was under mental stress.
He said that along with this, many points of police negligence have also come to light. After that, a petition has been filed in NHRC and BHRC in this matter, so that this matter can be taken seriously. Also, a demand has been made that the investigation of the case should be done under the supervision of a retired judge of the High Court.
According to the information, yesterday on Tuesday, Chinese citizen Li Jiaqi died during treatment at SKMCH Medical College. Muzaffarpur Police had arrested Li Jiaqi a few days ago for illegally entering India without a visa. After that, the police arrested him under the relevant sections and sent him to jail. Then the police started investigating the case. But the next day the Chinese citizen seriously injured himself, after which he was admitted to SKMCH for treatment. Where he died during treatment yesterday on Tuesday. After that, the police and medical administration got the post-mortem of the body done under the supervision of a magistrate and informed the Chinese Embassy in Kolkata about the whole matter.
