Case Registered Against Remo D’Souza and Wife Lizelle: A case has been registered against choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Liezel D’Souza in Thane, Maharashtra. He is accused of allegedly defrauding a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. News agency PTI has quoted the police as saying that a case has been registered against five more people in this matter.
Case registered against Remo D’Souza and Liezel D’Souza
This case has been registered on the complaint of a 26 year old dancer. An official has said that on October 16, a case was registered against Remo, Liezel and five others at Mira Road police station under IPC sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating) and other relevant provisions.
What are the allegations against Remo?
According to the FIR, the complainant and his associates were allegedly cheated from 2018 to 2024. It is also mentioned in the FIR that a dance troupe performed in a TV show and also won. It has also been alleged that the accused allegedly showed this dance troupe as their troupe and embezzled Rs 11.96 crore received as prize money.
The officer also said that apart from Remo and Liesel, other accused in the case include Omprakash Shankar Chauhan, Rohit Jadhav, Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, Ramesh Gupta and a policeman. The officer said that investigation is going on in the matter.
Remo is also a choreographer, director and judge of dance shows.
Remo D’Souza is not only a famous choreographer of Bollywood, he has also directed films like Faltu, ABCD and Race 3. Apart from this, he has also been seen as a judge in many dance shows. He has judged shows like Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Dance Ke Superstars, Dance Plus and DID Little Master.
