40-year-old Satish Sharma, who was injured by beating in village Kakodi of Chandpa in Hathras, died on the morning of 31 December. The inhuman face of the police of two districts has come to light when it came to post-mortem of the dead body and taking action. The police of Agra and Hathras districts remained embroiled in border dispute and the victim’s family kept running to police station Khandauli Agra and police station Chandpa with the dead body.

When these people reached Chandpa police station with the dead body around seven in the evening, the police again showed reluctance, due to which the villagers got enraged. Seeing their anger, the police filled the panchnama of the body and sent it to Hathras mortuary for post-mortem. Satish Sharma, son of Kishan Prasad, lived with his brother-in-law Satyaprakash in village Kakodi of Chandpa police station and was a cleaner on a canter vehicle. Satyaprakash alleges that three days ago, Satish was beaten up by canter driver Pawan Kumar, resident of village Nagariya Niwai of Kotwali Sadabad area, along with his associates in Khandauli and ran away leaving him in a critical condition outside the village. The family brought Satish home as his condition improved during treatment in Agra. He died on Sunday morning.

Relatives at post mortem

On receiving the information, Chandpa police reached the village and returned with the advice of taking the body there for post-mortem, stating that the incident site was Khandauli. When the family members reached Khandauli with the dead body, no hearing was held there too and they were sent back after telling them that the incident site was Chandpa. After this these people reached Chandpa police station. CO Sadabad Gopal Singh says that the incident has come to his notice. But the police has not received any complaint yet. Based on the complaint, action will be taken after investigation.

Even report of beating was not filed

The victim’s family alleges that three days ago, when they reached Chandpa police station with Satish in an injured condition, instead of filing a report, the police sent them away from the police station. After this, we reached Khandauli police station, there too the complaint was not taken and it was returned. He did the same on 31st and he kept running to Khandauli and Chandpa the whole day to get the post-mortem done on the dead body.
