Mughal Emperor Akbar fought many wars and won them. Akbar was also known for respecting all religions. Apart from this, he also got many historical buildings constructed, but do you know that Akbar was also very fond of clothes and for this, he used to get clothes made for the whole year in one go.

Let us tell you that everyone was aware of Emperor Akbar’s fondness for clothes. One thousand clothes were stitched for him in a year. His clothes were kept in bundles of 10 each so that they were easy to wear. 

Embroidery was done with gold wires
According to a BBC report, Akbar mostly wore silk clothes which were embroidered with gold wires. Akbar was also very fond of wearing pearls. Accordingly, full care was taken of gold wire embroidery and pearl embroidery in Akbar’s clothes. After which these clothes were prepared with a lot of hard work. 

There were different clothes for every function
Akbar used to perform the first public function every morning. He used to give darshan to people from the window of his palace. A crowd of people would already gather outside the palace to get a glimpse of him. BBC has written in its report quoting the book ‘Akbar the Greatest Mughal’ that there was a tradition in Fatehpur Sikri that until people had darshan of the emperor, they would neither wash their faces nor eat or drink anything. . This ritual not only gave people the impression that the emperor was alive but also brought people closer to him. Whenever Akbar’s court was held, people were informed about it by beating drums.
