Delhi CM Atishi said, ‘BJP’s central government is planning to demolish Hindu temples and Buddhist temples in different areas of Delhi. There is a religious committee, which takes decisions about shifting or demolishing the temples. It came under the Home Minister of Delhi Government. Till last year, all the decisions of this committee were first placed before the Home Minister and any action was taken only after his approval, but last year the LG of Delhi ordered that demolition of any religious place is a matter of law and order and hence It comes under Delhi LG and hence Delhi CM or Home Minister has nothing to do with it.

Atishi said, ‘Now the religious committee is directly under the Delhi LG. The chairman of the committee is the Principal Secretary of the Home Department and he sends the suggestions of the committee directly to the Delhi LG for approval. A meeting of the religious committee was held on 22 November. Yesterday the LG’s office told the media that there is no order to demolish temples, but this is a lie. In the meeting held on November 22, it was decided to demolish several temples located in West Patel Nagar, Dilshad Garden, Seemapuri, Gokalpuri, New Osmanpur and Sultanpuri and a Buddhist temple located in Sunder Nagari. All this is in the minutes of the meeting. The LG of Delhi has approved it and now the DM and SDM are preparing to demolish these temples.
Atishi further said, ‘AAP and Arvind Kejriwal announced to give a salary of Rs 18 thousand to the priests and priests. BJP is planning to demolish the temples. Demolition action should not be taken to hurt religious sentiments. No idols of gods or Buddhist temples should be destroyed.
