Chief Minister Atishi has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to quickly approve the proposal for appointment of bus marshals providing services in Delhi buses. He wrote that the proposal in this regard was sent to the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat on November 13, since then no concrete work has been done on it.
The letter reads, ‘On November 13, the Delhi government had sent you a proposal for re-appointment of marshals, but till now that proposal has not received your approval. I request you with folded hands to approve this proposal. The entire government, marshals and women Delhiites are waiting for your approval.
The Chief Minister wrote in his letter that women used to hesitate when coming out of the house in Delhi. He was afraid. These marshals were appointed in Delhi buses to provide a safe environment to women. Along with saving people’s lives, he bravely protected women. Because of these 10 thousand bus marshals, women started considering themselves safe in buses. After that, at the behest of the Central Government, some officials removed these bus marshals on 31 October. Since that time the Delhi government has been continuously demanding that he be re-appointed. Due to their absence, women are feeling unsafe. A proposal was sent on November 13 to reinstate them. Since then this proposal has not been approved by you. The Chief Minister has demanded from the LG to approve this proposal. The entire government, marshals and women of entire Delhi are waiting for your approval.
