Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reprimanded the officials who were showing reluctance in resolving crimes related to women and girls, and has also given instructions to bring about improvement. It is believed that if there is no improvement even after CM Yogi’s ultimatum, many officials may face action. Actually, Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country in resolving crimes related to women and girls. Despite this, the ratio of disposal of crimes related to women in many districts of the state is not as per the expectation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. CM Yogi’s intention is that crimes related to women should be resolved 100 percent, while the ratio of some districts of the state is between 80 to 90 percent.

If they do not improve even after the ultimatum, strict action will be taken

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently held a high-level review meeting with officials regarding law and order. In the meeting, the officials presented a report from 1 April 2023 to 30 April 2024 on the basis of the ITSSO portal in front of CM Yogi. It was told that Uttar Pradesh ranks first among the states across the country in resolving crimes related to women and girls.

The disposal ratio of the state is 98.70 percent. Ladakh is at first place and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu is at second place among the Union Territories. He expressed happiness over this and patted the back of the Home Department. On the basis of the report, the officials told the CM that the officials of some districts of the state are not serious about disposal. Their negligence has come to light in the report.

Expressing displeasure over this, CM Yogi has given an ultimatum to such officers (SP, SSP and Police Commissioner) to improve within a month. Along with this, the officers have been instructed to provide the report of careless officers to the government after a month. It is believed that if the working style of careless officers is not improved, then they may face action. According to the officers, the ratio of disposal in these districts is between 80 to 90 percent whereas CM Yogi wants the ratio of disposal of crimes related to women and girls to be 100 percent.

Pratapgarh lags behind Prayagraj Commissionerate in compliance rate

According to the report of the Investigation Tracking System for Sexual Offenses (ITSSO) portal of the Home Department, the compliance rate of Prayagraj Commissionerate is 80.48 percent. Whereas the compliance rate of Pratapgarh is 84.31 percent, Kanpur Dehat is 85.37 percent and Chitrakoot is 86.27 percent. CM Yogi has expressed extreme displeasure over this. The CM has instructed the officials of these districts to curb crimes under the zero tolerance policy and punish the accused in the registered cases in the shortest possible time. Similarly, 2997 FIRs related to crimes against women were registered in Bareilly. Out of these, the final report of 8 cases is pending, the ratio of which is 0.27 percent. 1910 FIRs were registered in Aligarh. Out of these, the final report of 6 cases is pending, the ratio of which is 0.31 percent. 952 FIRs were registered in Sultanpur. Out of these, the final report of 3 cases is pending, the ratio of which is 0.32 percent. 767 FIRs were registered in Fatehgarh. Out of these, the final report of 2 cases is pending, the ratio of which is 0.26 percent. CM Yogi directed the officials to dispose of the pending cases on priority basis. He will also review this after a month and if the situation is not found satisfactory, strict action will be taken against careless officials.

The disposal rate of Amroha is 97.81 percent and that of Barabanki is 98.04 percent

In the meeting, the officials informed that 1142 FIRs related to crimes against women were registered in Amroha. Out of these, final report was submitted in 1117 cases. Its disposal rate is 97.81 percent. 1580 FIRs were registered in Barabanki. Out of these, final report was submitted in 1549 cases. Its disposal rate is 98.04 percent. 2686 FIRs were registered in Lucknow Commissionerate. Out of these, final report was submitted in 2636 cases. Its disposal rate is 98.13 percent. Similarly, 1246 FIRs were registered in Pratapgarh. Out of these, final report was submitted in 1223 cases. Its disposal rate is 98.15 percent. 2997 FIRs were registered in Bareilly. Out of these, final report was submitted in 2942 cases. Its disposal rate is 98.16 percent.

On this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the Home Department officials present in the meeting to expedite the investigation process and complete the pending investigation as soon as possible. He said that when the next meeting is held in this regard, there should be improvement in these. He instructed the officials to focus on the districts whose performance is not good in these matters. If the situation does not improve even after this, strict action will be taken against them.
