Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that Uttar Pradesh is leading in mango production in the country but we will have to work continuously to maintain both quantity and quality in accordance with the growing population. To make Uttar Pradesh’s mango popular in the world market, we will have to start the information we get through such festivals here. The double engine government will help you at every level for this.
Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the farmers after inaugurating the Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival at Avadh Shilp Gram on Friday. He said that for the last 7-8 years, the state government has been organizing the Mango Festival. In this event, the government honors its progressive farmers and gardeners. We are making efforts to ensure that the mangoes grown in the state reach not only the country but also the world market. We are organizing Mango Festivals in the country and the world including Lucknow.
He said that there are possibilities of exporting mangoes from here and to which countries, we will have to make our reach to those countries. UP will export 40 tons of mangoes to Japan and Malaysia this year. This is the first time in the history of 160 years that Dasheri from Lucknow is being exported to America. Here the price of Dasheri is between 60 to 100 rupees but the same Dasheri is being sold in America for 900 rupees per kg. That is, if we add the cost of duty tax, cargo and air fare, then the cost of sending one kg of mango to America will be 250-300 rupees. Even then a farmer and gardener will save 600 rupees on one kg of mango.
He said that you all know that the fruit whose name in our common language is mango. That fruit is within the reach of every citizen. It is common, hence it is accessible and simple for everyone. It is also useful for everyone. The one who is common will also be the king and that is why we all have given importance to mango as the king of fruits.
Chief Minister Yogi inaugurated the Mango Festival and took information about various mango varieties. Apart from UP, mango farmers from many states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan have come to the Mango Festival. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export Dinesh Pratap Singh, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, Agricultural Production Commissioner Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Bharat Biotech Chairperson Padma Bhushan Dr. Krishna Ella etc. were present in the program.
