Green Gas Limited has again increased the prices of CNG and Domestic PNG in Agra. The price of CNG has been increased by Rs 1.96 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 1.93 per standard cubic metre. The increased rates will be applicable from 6 am on Sunday. CNG price is higher than petrol in the city. The price of petrol is Rs 96.32 per litre. Diesel is being sold at Rs 89.49 per litre.

CNG in Agra was Rs 97 per kg, its price has increased to Rs 98.96. While domestic PNG has increased from Rs 58.50 per standard cubic meter to Rs 60.43. The prices of CNG and PNG have been increasing continuously since September. CNG consumers are getting costlier than diesel and petrol.

Nakul Sharma, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony, Sector Seven, says that on one hand the government is emphasizing on the operation of eco-friendly vehicles, while on the other hand the prices of CNG are being increased continuously. Ravi Yadav, a resident of Trans Yamuna Colony, says that the consumers of CNG are getting disappointed due to repeated price hikes. One has to wait for a long time at the pumps to get second CNG.

CNG supply restored

CNG supply remained smooth on Saturday after two days of problem. Supply was restored on Friday night after completion of maintenance and repair work of gas pipeline at Tajnagari, the CNG mother station of Green Gas Limited. CNG was being given at the affected pumps from Saturday morning.

Along with the pumps of Fatehabad and Gwalior Road, the supply of CNG at Jeevan Mandi pump was stopped from 4 pm on Thursday. Due to non-availability of CNG at these pumps, the crowd at other pumps had increased. Fewer long queues were seen at the pumps on Saturday after supply was restored. Vinay Bhardwaj, media coordinator of Green Gas Limited, said that PNG supply was restored from 11 pm on Friday night.

PNG found after re-setting the regulator

Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supplies were also restored on Friday evening but consumers continued to face problems on Saturday morning. The regulator had to be reset due to supply cut. Consumers called the company in the morning and lodged a complaint about non-supply of PNG. After this the regulator was reset. Due to this, people had trouble in making tea and breakfast in the morning. Some houses in Shamshabad, Fatehabad Road and surrounding areas faced problems.
