In this matter, on February 10, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Prahlad Joshi had issued a notice against him and the Lok Sabha Secretariat had asked him to reply. The MPs had issued a notice on Gandhi’s February 7 speech in which he commented on the Hindenburg-Adani issue.

Sources said Gandhi has given a detailed reply running into several pages, citing various laws to justify his remarks made in the Lok Sabha. Addressing a gathering in his Lok Sabha constituency Wayanad on Monday, Rahul Gandhi criticized the decision to delete several comments from his speech made during the discussion in the House. The Congress leader had also said that he has given information and evidence in a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha about each of his remarks removed from the proceedings of Parliament.

What did the BJP allege

Both the BJP leaders, in their notices to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleged that Gandhi’s remarks were baseless and that he had used “unparliamentary and derogatory” language. So the speaker removed Rahul Gandhi’s comments after his speech.
