Congress attacks on BJP: The Congress on Tuesday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the central government over the recent violence in Tripura. It claimed that ‘state-sponsored terrorism’ is being carried out there ahead of the panchayat elections and it seems that this northeastern state is also heading towards a crisis like Manipur.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Lok Sabha members Tariq Anwar and Gaurav Gogoi as AICC observers in Tripura in connection with the “recent violence and attacks on party workers and offices by the ruling party” following the announcement of panchayat elections in the state.

Speaking to the media, Congress spokesperson Ajay Kumar termed BJP workers as ‘born rioters’ and claimed that his party workers are constantly facing unjust and violent situations in Tripura. He said, ‘Under the BJP government in Tripura, Congress workers are being targeted and attacked. There is a worrying law and order situation in the state. The ruling party has turned a blind eye.’
Ajay Kumar alleged, ‘Government sponsored terrorism is being carried out in Manipur and Tripura. The government is taking this country to such a brink from where it will be very difficult to return. Congress workers are being attacked continuously. They are not satisfied with the violence in Manipur, so now they are creating the same situation in Tripura. This is completely against the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi And it becomes Amit Shah’s responsibility.
One died in violent clash
Violence broke out last weekend in Tripura’s Dhalai district after a tribal youth was killed in a clash between two groups. Several shops were set on fire and houses were damaged, following which authorities imposed prohibitory orders there. A 19-year-old student was seriously injured in a clash between two groups on July 7 at Gandatvisa in Dhalai district, after which he was admitted to GBP Hospital, but he died during treatment on Friday.
