The first meeting of Congress will be held at the party headquarters on Thursday (7 March) to decide the candidate. According to sources, the Central Election Committee of Congress will decide the names of candidates for more than 100 seats. According to sources, the seats of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and North-Eastern states will be discussed in the meeting. Apart from this, the party can also discuss some seats in Uttar Pradesh.

After the names of the candidates are approved, Congress can soon release the first list. Sources believe that the Congress leadership is expecting senior leaders to contest the elections, where former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will contest from Rajnandgaon.
