To make the Congress assembly siege successful, the workers secretly left for Lucknow by trains and buses. At the same time, the District President, Vice President, General Secretary, State Secretary of Youth Congress and Metropolitan President were also put under house arrest. A large number of Congress workers who had set out to go to Lucknow were detained by the police at Cantt station late in the night.

On Tuesday night, the Congress workers who had set out for Lucknow under the leadership of Metropolitan President Raghavendra Choubey were detained by the police from Cantt Railway Station. Everyone was taken to the police line. District President Rajeshwar Singh Patel said that the police has put District Vice President Rajiv Gautam, Shriprakash Singh, Rajiv Ram, General Secretary Anand Singh Rinku and former District President Prajanath Sharma under house arrest.

There is a program of gherao of the assembly on 18th December against the government’s misgovernance, injustice, atrocities and anarchy. The government is frightened by this and the Congressmen have been put under house arrest. This act of the government administration is condemnable.
Torture by police guards clearly means that this government is afraid of Congress. Every Congress worker will bravely register his participation in the assembly siege. At the same time, Congress workers kept leaving for Lucknow secretly since morning.
