After 14 coaches of Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailed in Gonda, Congress has surrounded the central government. Congress said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav should take responsibility for this big flaw and accident. Also, the government should install anti-collision system shield on every route.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the derailment of Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express in Uttar Pradesh clearly shows that the Modi government has endangered rail safety. He said that we express our deepest condolences to the deceased and their bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. A month ago, 11 people were killed in a collision between a goods train and the Kanchenjunga Express. Kharge said that the Railway Safety Commissioner has given a statement that the accident was being awaited.

He said that the investigation revealed that the major reason for the accident was the lack of walkie-talkie with the loco pilot and the train manager and the lack of many flaws in the train operation after the automatic signal failed. Kharge said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Railway Minister, who never miss any opportunity for publicity, should directly take responsibility for this flaw of the Indian Railways.

The Congress President said that our only demand is that to prevent accidents and for safety, the government should install anti-collision system on all railway tracks of the country as soon as possible.
