According to the travel history of these two patients, one person has returned after traveling to Kerala and the other has returned from Assam. Both the patients have been asked to remain in home isolation. The sample of one patient has been tested at IGIMS Patna while the other has been tested at ESIC Hospital Bihta.

Health Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh has asked new patients to remain in home isolation for now. However, which variant is there in both the patients has not been confirmed yet. Whether the new sub-variant is infected with JN.1 or not will be known after the report. After genome sequencing, it will be confirmed which variant of Corona these are.
26 cases of the new variant have been reported so far
Patients of the new variant of Corona virus JN.1 have been found in many states. However, not a single case has been confirmed in Bihar yet. So far, 26 cases of JN.1 sub variant have been reported in the country. Out of 26 cases, 19 cases have been reported in Goa, 4 in Rajasthan and one case each in Kerala, Delhi and Maharashtra.
Let us tell you that Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Health Department, Pratyaya Amrit has given instructions to be cautious in hospitals. Superintendents, principals and all civil surgeons of all medical college hospitals have been advised to exercise caution. Instructions have been given to repair the damaged oxygen plant. At present 90 oxygen plants are in operation in the state.
