As winter has increased in Agra, the problem of cough, sore throat and nasal allergy has increased. Swelling in the throat is causing pain while eating and swallowing. Children and working people are more affected by this. There is difficulty in breathing due to blocked nose. The number of patients in the ENT disease department of SN Medical College has increased by 30 percent.

Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Head of ENT Disease Department of SN, said that on an average 200 patients are coming to OPD every day. Half of these patients suffered from nose-throat allergies, frequent sneezing, sore throat, pain in ears and throat due to cold. Children are suffering more due to cold. Unable to breathe due to blocked nose and sleep is also getting affected. Along with giving them medicine, they are being told about prevention from cold. In the last 15 days, the number of patients in OPD has increased by 30 percent.
ENT specialist Dr. Gaurav Khandelwal said that most of the patients suffer from sore throat due to cold. There is pain in the throat due to soreness and swelling. Due to this, there is difficulty in eating and drinking also. Consuming ice-cream and soft drinks during the function has also increased the throat allergy.
