Covid-19: The Central Government has expressed concern about the increase in the positivity rate of Kovid-19 in some states. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to the states on Saturday (March 11). It was said in the letter that the increase in positivity rate during corona testing in some states is a matter of concern which needs immediate attention.
In a letter to the states and union territories, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote that operational guidelines need to be followed to deal with influenza-like illness and severe respiratory infections. Along with this, it has also been requested to take stock of the preparations for medicines, medical oxygen and vaccination against Kovid-19 and Influenza in hospitals.

The letter said, while there has been a sharp decline in the number of Covid-19 cases in the last few months, the increase in positivity rate during Covid-19 tests in some states is a matter of concern, which needs immediate attention.
Health Secretary said that despite the low number of new cases, reduction in the number of hospitalizations and significant progress in terms of Kovid-19 vaccination coverage, there is a need to be vigilant, vaccinated and follow Kovid rules.
‘Senior citizens, pregnant women at greater risk’
It has been said in the letter that along with Kovid, an increase in the cases of Influenza has also been seen. The major concern is the detection of Influenza A (H3N2) during the testing of samples in various laboratories. It should also be kept in mind that young children, old people and people with co-morbidities are especially at serious risk of H1N1, H3N2.
Most of these variants usually cause a mild illness with fever and cough progressing to respiratory problems. On the other hand, in some cases, especially elderly, obese and suffering from other diseases and pregnant women, they can suffer more seriously.
