CRPF Headquarters News: After the completion of the deadline for the construction of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters building, another extension has been given. This building is being constructed on 2.23 acres of land next to the head office of CBI on Lodhi Road in Delhi. According to Indian Express sources, this building is not close to completion yet.

The first deadline for the project was April 2022, which was extended till March 2023, but still around 65 per cent work is left, so a new deadline has been set for November 2023 after an internal review. Sources said the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) is constructing the new building at an estimated cost of Rs 280 crore.

Home Minister laid the foundation stone

Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the new headquarters in 2019 and the construction work started in January 2020. Sources said that after a few months, the work was stopped due to the outbreak of the Kovid-19 pandemic. Work started again after the situation became normal. The building construction work was stopped again after the government imposed a ban on construction activities due to rising pollution levels in Delhi.

Deadline was for March 2023

According to sources, last year the new deadline was set for March 2023, but recently when the officials reviewed the progress of the construction work, they found that only 35 per cent work was completed. Now the new deadline has been set for November 2023. The tender for building the headquarters was given to CPWD in April 2022. CRPF has so far cleared bills worth Rs 100 crore of CPWD.

As per the proposal, the new headquarters, being built on the green building model, will have ground plus 11 floors, including auditorium, conference hall, barracks for subordinate staff, central police canteen, gym, guest room, kitchen, dining room and accommodation for 520 cars and 15 buses. For include mechanical parking. Skywalks will be built on the sixth and seventh floors to connect the office block with the cafeteria.

Officials said the building is proposed to have water and sewage treatment plants, rainwater harvesting systems and an indigenous ventilation system. At present, the headquarters of CRPF is located at Block No. 1 in the Central Government Office Complex on Lodhi Road, but the offices of other units of CRPF- RAF, CoBRA, Medical, Training, Communication etc. are located in different areas due to paucity of space in the present building. are situated.
